March 13th

This is how the actual text went:

Hubby: Looks like it is going to me nice tomorrow, a few of us are thinking about going golfing.

Me: Sounds fun, glad you can get out so early this year.

Conversation in my head:

Golfing? 4 hours of golf, 20 minutes there, 20 minutes home, at least an hour for beers afterwards. ALMOST 6 HOURS!!! I haven’t been alone in the house since golf ended in October (thank god for the extra nice weather then). I was planning to go workout at 7:15 and then to my parents. I should be home by 10:30! Crap, I need to go grocery shopping. If I do that after my parents then I won’t be home until 12:30 and then still have to finish laundry, put away the groceries, etc. I won’t really get to enjoy my time alone. Bummer! Wait! I could go shopping tonight! Remember when you went a few weeks away in the evening and there was barely anyone there and it was so much faster and easier? That is what I will do.

This is how I ended up grocery shopping at 8PM on a Friday night just so I could have the house to myself for a few glorious hours!!!!

  1. Hilarious! I can totally relate! I don’t want to be doing anything cleaning or prepping related if I have the house to myself. A good book, a TV show I can’t watch around kids, and I want to eat anything I want without judgment!

  2. I love going to the grocery store at night! No one is there and I can get in and out. It never fails that when I go during the weekend it takes twice as long because I see people I know and we stop and talk! Enjoy having the house to yourself!

  3. Alone time at home?! What’s that? Something the last year has made us realize we took for granted before. I hope you’re enjoying every minute of it!
